Chef Nobu Matsuhisa is venturing into the fashion world with Nobu and Gap.
Designer Chris Stamp and Chef Nobu Matsuhisa have joined forces to create Nobu Matsuhisa’s new apparel collection of all-black, elevated basics. This collaboration highlights Hollywood’s favourite sushi chef and his esteemed Sushi Club community.
Sushi Club was created by Stamp and Matsuhisa to provide a space for those who respect and appreciate good food, even better hospitality, and high-quality art. The community brings such people together in cities around the world, and now they’re bringing the club to San Francisco – Gap’s city of origin. This cultural venture combines both brands under one banner and introduces a limited-edition collection.
Chef Matsuhisa’s existing empire includes hotels in cities from Los Cabos to Las Vegas and Marrakech to Marbella; around 60 restaurants internationally; several cookbooks; and, as of this month, an exciting new merchandise collection.
Previous Sushi Club fashion collaborations include touches to a Nike Air Force 1 sneaker, and today it is joining forces with Gap to create a line of elevated basics that will take you from day to night with ease.
The newest Gap x Sushi Club collaboration will include fresh designs such as a new Gap logo with chopsticks replacing the capital A; top-grade materials used throughout, such as heavyweight cotton and breathable mesh; and, of course, an ode to San Francisco throughout.
The collection includes a Gap x Sushi Club Heavyweight Graphic Black T-Shirt, a Gap x Sushi Club Heavyweight Black Logo Hoodie, and a Gap x Sushi Club Black Logo Trucker Hat.
Whether you are an OG Gap fan or someone who appreciates Nobu Matsuhisa’s sushi artistry, the collaboration has something for everyone.
The new collection is available online now.
