Discover food, business and more at K-City.
The United Arab Emirates has revealed plans to create K-City, a space and city-like structure entirely dedicated to celebrating Korean culture. As part of a collaboration with the Korean government, the city will bring together all aspects of Korean culture. The site will showcase food, business, the arts, and more.
Recently, the UAE has been among a host of countries to fall in love with Korean culture — from K-pop to films, skincare, and beyond. Dubai, in particular, has hosted several top Korean stars this year. The events include Global Village, which staged a K-pop festival in November. Plus, Coca-Cola Arena brought together iconic K-drama soundtrack stars for a unique concert in September.
This newfound love for Korean culture — specifically K-pop, K-drama, and K-beauty products — has made the K-culture rabbit hole all too familiar for UAE citizens.

Whilst details of UAE K-City are limited for now, excitement is already building for what’s to come. The project is in its early stages, as the governments need to explore ways to combine their strengths. Officials have yet to confirm the scale of the city and its location.
The announcement of K-City came after a visit by Lee Jae-myung, the President of the Republic of Korea. The leaders of both nations discussed the development of the UAE as a global hub for cultural exchange.
Lee said: “Both parties recognise the vital role of cultural exchange in fostering mutual understanding, promoting shared values, and strengthening people-to-people connections. The two countries agreed to continue discussions on various measures to further benefit the citizens of the Republic of Korea and the United Arab Emirates through active people-to-people exchanges.”
