Are you missing Expo 2020? Expo City Dubai’s Hai Ramadan will run from the first day of Ramadan for the entirety of the Holy Month. Here, you can stroll through Al Wasl Avenue, where Emirati-themed stations bring cultural traditions to life. Expect nostalgic old-style grocery stores, relax in inviting communal seating areas, and explore interactive experiences like the Yado House Floos system for treats and entertainment.
At the heart of the family-friendly festival is food. If you’re looking for somewhere to break your fast for iftar or for suhoor, then put this on your radar, including special experiences under the dome crafted by Emirati chefs.
Events include a vibrant souk filled with handcrafted treasures, traditional attire, and enchanting Ramadan-themed items. You can also immerse yourself in the magic of Story Time under the Al Wasl Dome and enjoy an enchanting orchestra concert by the Firdaus Orchestra. Visitors can also enjoy the immersive children’s workshops, where Emirati customs and crafts come alive.
As twilight descends, Rashid and Latifa will perform, embarking on a quest to locate the moon, symbolising the essence of fasting in Ramadan. Be sure not to miss the Dubai cannon, returning for its fourth year, firing daily to mark the breaking of the fast.
There will also be a dedicated on-site mosque that will host prayers, including Taraweeh and Tahajjud. After the Taraweeh prayer, listen to Qur’an recitations, and storytellers will share tales of adventure, culture, religion, and morality.
This year’s Hai Ramadan celebrations form part of Al Wasl Season and follows then success of Dhai Dubai Light Art Exhibition, Dubai’s Festival of Cake and Winter City. This year’s Al Wasl Season arrives under the theme “One Destination, Every Celebration” and promises cultural showcases, live performances, foodie festivals and family-friendly fun beneath the Al Wasl Dome.
