Embrace the experience and dine on traditional low tables and seats.

Saudi Arabia is filled with exciting restaurant openings, from big brands to celebrity chefs. The new Japanese restaurant, Umay, has opened in Jeddah. Located in King Abdullah Economic City, it aims to create an authentic experience across its décor and dishes.

Umay’s menu draws its inspiration from Japanese classics and spans appetisers, mains and desserts. The appetisers include Danburu, Dragon Tempura and Midori Sushi. The main courses include Kaiyo Rolls with eight pieces covering salmon and shrimp; Itadakimasu with grilled beef and vegetables; and Ppuru Soba noodles with pineapple and vegetables.

The desserts range from a Matcha Tiramisu to Umay Tart, which comes with cherries and strawberries. Plus, the drinks range from a Cherry Mojito to Matcha Tea.

When you visit Umay, you enter through large wooden doors and are invited into a simple spot. The décor includes low, long dark wooden tables and soft red cushions. Visitors are encouraged to embrace a traditional Japanese experience, and sit on the floor and dine.
