Saudi Arabia has officially begun laying the foundation for World Expo 2030, bringing its bold vision to life. Running from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031, Expo 2030 Riyadh will take place in the heart of the capital. Following a $7.8 billion investment, details about the masterplan have been revealed.
In November 2023, Riyadh secured 119 out of 173 votes, defeating Rome and Busan. Now, the city is on track to host the prestigious event. Riyadh Expo 2030 is expected to attract 40 million physical visitors and more than one billion virtual visits through cutting-edge digital platforms.

The Expo 2030 Riyadh site is strategically located north of Riyadh, between the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC) and King Khalid International Airport. Spanning over six million square metres, the site will be seamlessly integrated with Riyadh’s metro and bus networks, ensuring easy access for millions of expected visitors.
Riyadh Expo 2030 will feature five thematic zones, each designed to align with the overarching theme: The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow. The Saudi Arabia Zone celebrates national progress under Vision 2030. The International Collaboration Zone offers a platform for global partnerships under the Prosperous People pillar.

The Innovation and Technology Zone showcases groundbreaking technologies and digital transformation. The Sustainability Zone is a hub for climate solutions, green technology, and environmental innovation. The Inclusive Communities Zone highlights diversity, accessibility, and quality of life.
Riyadh Expo 2030’s design draws inspiration from traditional Saudi oases and rawdah garden concepts, merging heritage with modern functionality. Of the total area, 2.6 million square metres will be allocated to infrastructure and essential services.
Additionally, the Expo site will remain a permanent Global Village, welcoming international events, exhibitions, dining, entertainment, and more.
