Saudi Arabia’s development continues to gather momentum, and it is not only the major cities that are in the spotlight. The southern city of Abha is emerging as a key focus for tourism and lifestyle, and one of its most exciting upcoming projects is The Point, a contemporary mixed-use destination designed for residents and visitors alike.
Located along King Fahd Road between Abha and Khamis Mushait, The Point enjoys a strategic position that makes it easy to access. It is only a few minutes from Abha’s city centre and about a 14-minute drive from Abha International Airport, making it a convenient stop for travellers and a regular hangout for locals. The site sits on naturally elevated land, opening up sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and cityscape.
The Point has been envisioned as a new lifestyle hub for Abha, bringing together shopping, dining, hotels, entertainment, and public spaces in one walkable destination. The design draws on Aseer’s heritage while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. Expect natural materials, soft colour palettes and geometric patterns inspired by local traditions. A strong emphasis is placed on open-air public spaces, including terraces, plazas, shaded walkways, and a central entertainment zone complete with a water feature and amphitheatre. Thanks to the sloping site, multi-level terraces will frame views of both the city and the mountains.
There will be plenty to see and do once The Point opens. A dedicated retail district will host a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, alongside a cinema, family entertainment areas and flexible activity spaces. Two Hilton properties will anchor the hospitality offering at The Point. Canopy by Hilton will be a 150-room lifestyle hotel with interiors inspired by Abha’s landscapes and culture. Hilton The Point Residences will offer 100 serviced apartments designed for longer stays. The two properties will share amenities, including an indoor pool, fitness centre, dining outlets and a kids’ club.
Beyond leisure, The Point also provides day-to-day services that support the growing community in Abha. The masterplan includes a medical clinic, a youth centre, and a hypermarket, ensuring that the destination is practical as well as playful. Construction is already underway, and the project is expected to be near completion by summer 2026.
