The exhibition showcases subjects, from a Walk on Mars to the first Muslim into space.
Here’s an exhibition that will put stars in your eyes: The Riyadh Space Fair. The exciting show takes place at King Salman Science Oasis in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Running until 20 February, it explores the theme of mankind and space, and gives you the rare chance to experience the wonders of space from planet Earth.
The Riyadh Space Fair brings together fun-filled, family-friendly immersive experiences. The exhibition will showcase previous missions to space, and how they shaped our understanding of the universe. The displays explore astronomy, cosmology and modern scientific theories. One of the highlights include the kingdom’s achievement of sending Prince Sultan Bin Salman into space, as this was the first time that an Arab and Muslim flew into space.
Riyadh Space Fair spans eight live stations that cover the development of astronomy, cosmology, modern scientific theories, and the nature of the universe. The information is shared through telescopes, satellites and entertaining as well as educational games. Plus, one of the must-visit experiences is the Walk On Mars interactive stimulator.
Khalid Al-Hazani, Head of the Riyadh Life Sector at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, explained: “Riyadh Space Fair is one of the initiatives of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City to organize activities combining scientific and recreational aspects. The fair will also contribute to enriching the scientific and cultural knowledge of Riyadh residents and visitors, while providing growth and job opportunities in that industry, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.”
Tickets to Riyadh Space Fair start from AED 37.70, and the exhibition runs daily from 10am to 10pm. Visitors must be above five years old. It’s time for take-off.
