The event is part of the Winter at Tantora festival.
Saudi Arabia is home to world-class sports events, from boxing to football. It is now set to welcome Desert Polo in AlUla. Running from 16 to 17 January 2026, the event is part of the Winter at Tantora Festival and brings together players from around the world.
The Royal Commission for AlUla and the Saudi Polo Federation organise the Desert Polo. Desert Polo takes place in the depths of the desert, at the Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Equestrian Village. The soaring sights, dramatic landscape, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra serve as the backdrop. It offers front-row views of the game, bringing together an international crowd, local VIPs, and royalty.
“AlUla Desert Polo has become one of the region’s most distinctive sporting experiences,” shared Ziad AlSuhaibani, Chief Sports Officer at Royal Commission for AlUla. “Its return in 2026 highlights AlUla’s unique ability to offer heritage, luxury, and athletic excellence in a setting unlike anywhere else in the world.”

Apart from the race, you can also enjoy food, entertainment, shaded lounge areas, live music, pop-up shops, local crafts, interactive experiences and a Kids Zone with family activities.
Tickets are on sale now, starting from SAR 380 for one day, or SAR 570 for both days. For those who want a more exclusive experience, you can upgrade to the Polo Players Circle, which includes special field access, a chance to meet the players, take photos, and receive event souvenirs.
If you’re looking for more fun things to do in AlUla, you’ll find a range of festivals. The AlUla Trail Race takes place from 22 to 23 January 2026, and the AlUla Tour from 27 to 31 January 2026.
