The tournament will kick off on 9 September.
The UAE has cemented its place as a global hub for sports. From UFC fights and NBA games to golf, tennis, and Formula 1, there’s always something happening in the region. But when cricket fever hits, things take a turn. And this time around, the Asia Cup 2025 is heading to the UAE once again.
The Asia Cup 2025 will kick off its 17th edition on 9 September and run until 28 September. Taking place across the UAE’s top cricketing venues – including Dubai International Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi – it promises to rile up fans. It’ll follow the T20I format, giving fans plenty of action and nail-biting finishes.

For the first time ever, eight teams will take part in the Asia Cup. Group A will feature India, Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE. Group B will include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group will then move on to the semi-finals, with the best two making it to the final on 28 September.
The tournament will begin with a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on 9 September. The most anticipated clash will be between India and Pakistan, as they bring their fiercest cricketing rivalry to the UAE on 14 September. If both teams make it through, we could see them clash again on 21 September in the second round. And if the stars align, there’s a real chance of a first-ever India–Pakistan Asia Cup final.
Watching the India vs Pakistan match might be tougher than getting a table at a Michelin-starred restaurant – expect tickets to sell out. Sports bars and lounges across the UAE will host live screenings of the Asia Cup. Plus, if you want to continue the sporting fun, the FIBA Asia Cup takes place in Jeddah.
Dust off your jerseys, gather your crew, and get ready to cheer for your favourite team this Asia Cup 2025.
