Fans can immerse themselves in the wizarding world at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Potterheads, unite. Muggles, look away. Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery had earlier announced that a Harry Potter-themed land is coming to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. This is the first attraction of its kind in the Middle East, and it will be located in the world’s largest indoor theme park, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. And now, it’s been shared that it will be the only Harry Potter attraction in the world to have both the Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley.
The Harry Potter-themed land will join the six existing Immersive Lands at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. Potter fans will have the chance to step inside iconic locations from the wizarding world, all in a new and exciting way. The opening date has not yet been announced, but we expect it to be a must-visit, family-friendly attraction featuring three new rides.

Forbes reported that the expansion of the Warner Bros. World, which houses the upcoming Harry Potter theme park, will be the only franchise attraction in the world to have replicas of both Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley. There are also reports of a Forbidden Forest area to be built as part of this attraction. Expect to see giant spiders and all the creatures you’d expect to find here.
Diagon Alley is expected to feature large, colourful displays integrated into its quirky building, much like in the films and books. The street’s design was inspired by Victoria Street in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Meanwhile, Hogwarts, Harry Potter’s famous school, is designed as a Gothic, church-like castle drawing inspiration from several historic locations across the UK, such as Alnwick Castle, which was also used as a filming location for the early Harry Potter movies.

The character who sleeps in the cupboard under the stairs has become a global phenomenon. Harry Potter spans eight films and is based on the best-selling book series, which has sold over 600 million copies worldwide, has been distributed in more than 200 territories, and has been translated into over 80 languages.
HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, explains: “We are very proud of our continuous partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and excited to be bringing this spellbinding first to the Middle East and the world in the future. This is yet another testament to our commitment to continue to position Yas Island as a top global destination for entertainment and leisure, and a great addition to Abu Dhabi’s tourism offerings, contributing to the growth and economic diversification of the Emirate.”

Pam Lifford, President, Global Brands and Experiences from Warner Bros. Discovery, adds: “The Wizarding World offers something for fans of every age to enjoy. The original Harry Potter stories and the blockbuster film series continue to captivate and inspire hundreds of millions of fans around the world, and our Global Themed Entertainment team, together with our world-class partner Miral, will expand our successful Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi to bring this magical experience to life.”
The project will be the world’s sixth Harry Potter-themed park. The others are in Beijing, China; California and Florida in the US; Leavesden in the United Kingdom; and Osaka in Japan. The Harry Potter attraction isn’t the only exciting addition to Yas Island. The Walt Disney Company has also announced plans to open a Disney theme park in Abu Dhabi.
Sounds like a magical day out.
